Temperate Forest and Wild Fuschia, Parque Nacional Vincente Perez Rosales

The lower elevations in the park are covered by a temperate forest. There were many species of trees and flowers, only a few of which we were able to identify.

In the photo above the red flowers of the notro tree (Embotrium coccineum) stand out against the greenery. This species was fairly common throughout this part of the country. Further south, in Patagonia, this species is reduced to a shrub.

Among the undergrowth are these wild fuchsia (Fuchsia magellanica).
