Orchids at Cape LeGrand National Park

Cape LeGrand National Park was our first real encounter with the tremendous diversity of orchids found in Australia. There are over 1300 named species of orchid in Australia and it is estimated that there is probably an equal number that have not yet been described.

These two are (above) the bee orchid, Arachnorchis discoidea, and (left) the cowslip orchid, Caladenia flava flava.
